My ONE defense!

On my drive home today there was a story on a local radio station about how a father just did not know what to do with his daughter that was constantly chanting cheers.  She was always practicing.  Always jumping.  It was always READY, SET, GO!  I had to laugh - then I had one of those Jesus moments.

A few weeks ago I was pondering the thought - what wins a game - defense or offense?  Now - you need to know that I do not know much about defense or offense in any game.  Just enough to be a spectator that cheers them on when winning and yells out a good "come on now, get in the game - you can do it!" when my team is losing.

However, I was a cheerleader growing up and one cheer stands out in my Mind - DEFENSE DEFENSE (CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP)  So when I heard this conversation on the radio it snagged my attention and reminded me of my defense or offense thought.

You see I was not really thinking about sports.  I was thinking about how you win any game. . . or war or battle particularly the battle of Psoriatic Arthritis.  Some think you can be effective with - diet, exercise, elimination, supplements, and immune support.  Others believe in more traditional medical treatments.  My approach is a combination.  While there is nothing wrong with either method - the important thing is finding one that works for you.

So, back to that story on the radio - a caller stated it beautifully. . . he commented to be happy their daughter was learning how to be a cheerleader -  she was actually building a life skill and it would take her so far in her journey - she was learning to be a victor and not a victim!

That defense cheer came to mind again and so for that Jesus moment - here goes the tie in - I made my decision.  DEFENSE wins this game.  Here is a song that gives me a reminder every time I hear it - I hope you enjoy,  Lord I need you - every hour I need you, my one defense, my righteousness, my God how I need you.  Matt Maher - at his best!  Copy and paste the below link in your browser or look up one of my favorites - Matt Maher - all of his music is oh so very good!
